What is winter? What happens in the winter

📌 In the 8 days we Celebrate our forefathers cleansing and dedicating the Lord’s holy temple.

Temple-A building to worship the Most High.

Dedication- The act of honoring something

📌King Antiochus wanted all of Israel to worship their gods and offer Sacrifices.

( some Israelites followed)

📌 Mattathias, an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, his sons and other Israelites did not listen to the king. They did not forsake the laws of god.

📌 In seeking justice, they smote sinful men, destroyed pagan altars, circumcised all children they found uncircumcised and recovered the book of the law from the hands of the Greeks.

📌When Mattathias died, his son Judas fought for and cleansed the temple with the help of the Israelites.

📌 When God allowed us to get the temple back We dedicated the temple back to God and celebrated with the Feast of Dedication.
